French Riviera

If the pilot, weather and winds want, the approach to France’s third largest airport Nice is absolutely wonderful on the French Riviera. You see the sea, the mountains, the cape of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the river Var, yes even the dome of the enchanting Negresco hotel.

Along the sea, the motorway and the pedestrian and cycling track enter Nice, the capital of the French Riviera. Mayor Christian Estrosi has done and does a great deal for the environment – new green areas, trams, cycle tracks and 1,750 bicycles. The beach umbrellas, bicycles and chairs are and, like the sky and sky, will always be blue. The mayor was born in Nice by Italian parents. Appropriate, because the city belongs to Italy and the flu is still noticeable in architecture and food. The border then crossed the Var river.

Places we recommend visiting when on the French Riviera

La Turbie (Nice)

Rent a car or hop on a bus from Nice, bring someone you like more about and head to the small village of La Turbie, opposite the Cap Ferrat. Here a magical promenade is waiting in the lush mountains overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Château Sainte-Roseline (Les Arcs)

If you are able to rent a car while visiting the French Riviera, you should immediately plan a visit to Château Sainte-Roseline, a magnificent vineyard on the route between Cannes and Saint Tropez. Here you can have a guided tour and a better wine tasting.

Gelateria Del Porto(Antibes)

This amazing glass bar serves fresh ice cream made by hand for seasonal fruits. The owner buys the ingredients on the market outside the store every morning. Glasses in the high season stretch half a block from the small hole in the wall say the most.

Fondation Maeght (Saint-Paul-de-Vence)

Fondation Maeght is a museum of modern art located in a state-
park just outside the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence (a short hour’s bus ride from Nice). On the walls are some of the 20th century most important artists, such as Jean Arp, Pierre Bonnard and Georges Braque.

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat (Cap Ferrat)

For those who want to experience the “old” Côte d’Azur feel, a long walk is recommended on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, east of Nice. Walk along the water and enjoy the classic luxury houses (the grounds must not go down to the water). Bring swimwear and picnic.
